The best climate in the world

Grecia and Atenas are the closest mountain towns to the capital San Jose and for several years have been attracting foreigners to a quieter but equally prosperous life. It is entitled 'the best climate in the worldand refers to the ideal climate in this part of the country. Although it is relative, it is actually very pleasant. As the tropics warm up over the years, the mountains offer cool nights and cool breezes. Costa Rica is a very sunny country and despite a long marked rainy season, most days are partly cloudy and the sun can always be felt. The average daily temperature is 26 Celsius (80 Fahrenheit).

Proximity to the international airport allows connections to many destinations

The Juan Santamaria International Airport is located 20 minutes away from our residential project El Canal. Every day more and more direct flights are opening to the largest cities in the United States and many other countries in the world. It is one of the best airports in Central America and its infrastructure has been renovated several times.

Health above all: a high-caliber, universal access system

Costa Ricans have access to a universal health care system that can easily be used by internationals. The Costa Rican Social Security Fund offers medical care in some 30 hospitals and 250 clinics throughout the country. The town of Grecia has its own public hospital(Hospital San Francisco de Asis) and within our residential project there will be a private medical center. Legal residents have access to all hospitals and clinics associated with the Fund and in fact are required to pay a small monthly fee as part of the requirements for residency. Although the Caja is criticized by some locals, it is a fairly modern low cost health care system and highly rated by the international press.

Juan Santamaria Airport is one of the best connected airports in Central America. It particularly has flights to many cities in the United States and Canada. It is very easy to get to the airport and travel to different cities in Latin America, Canada and the United States.

Another reason to own property in Costa Rica is the ease with which you can start your business in this country. The government allows and helps any foreigner to invest in business. Just by having a 90 day tourist visa, you are able to buy land, hotel, apartment or even start building. All this is possible without being a resident. In addition, the same laws that apply to Costa Ricans apply to foreigners regarding the purchase of real estate. Property is protected by the Costa Rican constitution. 

Among Latin American countries to buy a house, Costa Rica has a fairly high cost of living. It is estimated that you can live modestly on $1,500 per month. The standard cost of living falls in the range of $1,500 to $2,000.

Security, peace and tranquility

Finally, you must consider security. Costa Rica is the safest country in Central America. Crime exists, but the rate is quite low and most people are friendly and hospitable. The military was abolished 70 years ago, which had a positive impact in many ways. Compared to neighboring countries like Honduras and Nicaragua, corruption, poverty and violence are not a major problem. Costa Rica claims to be the Switzerland of Latin America, referring to its political stability, economic prosperity and beautiful mountain scenery.
